Acupuncturist, Sports Medicine Acupuncture Certified
Elizabeth Bourgeois is an Oregon-licensed acupuncturist specializing in dry needling, orthopedic acupuncture, and sports injury rehabilitation. She works with runners, dancers, strength athletes, and active adults who want to resolve pain, recover from injury, and return to training as efficiently and safely as possible, with stronger, more resilient movement.
Elizabeth holds advanced certification in Sports Medicine Acupuncture (SMAC) and has extensive training in the evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries. Her clinical approach combines dry needling, acupuncture, and hands-on soft tissue therapy with a strong understanding of neuroanatomy and movement mechanics to address issues such as nerve pain, tendon injuries, chronic muscle tension, joint pain, and training-related overuse injuries.
She also enjoys working with women in perimenopause and menopause who want to maintain or rebuild strength, muscle mass, and physical capacity during hormonal transition.
Her treatments may incorporate:
- Acupuncture
- Dry Needling
- Tuina (Chinese bodywork)
- Cupping
- Scraping
- Movement-informed rehabilitation strategies
Outside the clinic, Elizabeth enjoys running and weight lifting. She has trained in powerlifting, StrongFirst-style kettlebells, and occasionally, a little Olympic-style weightlifting sprinkled in.
She volunteers with the Oregon Ballet Theater and other performing arts groups in the Portland metropolitan area.
